Like he says, "Once in the a while, you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
When they encored with Knockin, it was Deja vu.
Not sure if it was the liquid or the generous hippies that knew it was my 1st show and floated me the kindest herb. But the show was surreal!!!!!
Thanks for the recording. Brings back so many memories,

Classic west-coast NON-FREAKOUT SHOW. Well-behaved audience that was there for the tunes--not just the parking lot scene. The audience was mellow and ready for 3 day Memorial Day gathering. Jerry, too, if you take a look at all those contemplative Jerry tunes!!! The band played well---might not be Cornell 77 or Hampton 89, but this is still a respectable outing----I do not think Charlie Miller would have bothered if this show was really just a 1 star-cull. Take a listen--just don't expect to be launched to the moon. Not a bad aud. A lil' boom, but really quite clear, otherwise. Thanks for the effort, uploaders. A lil' more than 3 stars, for myself.

Of the many shows I attended at Shoreline post-Brent, this was my favorite. As with most shows I attended, my bias means I give it an extra star. But objectively, this audience recording probably deserves only 3 stars due to the boomy effect that affects nearly all Shoreline recordings that I've ever heard. With that in mind, and looking at the setlist and the short length of Playing->UJB, I can understand that you might be tempted to pass over this show. However, I maintain this is one of the gems of 1992, which was a spotty year overall. There was a lot of energy on this Saturday evening and Phil and Jerry definitely felt it and gave it back to the audience. For example, Box of Rain wasn't exactly uncommon (being played about 10 times per year in the 90s) but it was always a treat to hear it. And Garcia was in one of those moods for introspection: this show features Ship of Fools early in Set II, followed later by a Wheel->Stella combo. And if you download this one, whatever you do, do not skip the Drums->Space. A length, brutal beam-bashing from Mickey and Billy and lots of help from the soundboard made this a mind-bending treat.
